A lot of people are doubting if they are ready to start applying for jobs, and while that is a broad topic, one thing is for sure, to be ready you must have a portfolio.
Portfolios are a way to showcase your skillset and experience in the most relevant form for employers, and while we don't want to pressure you, it's not something to take lightly.
Work on your portfolio and adapt it.
“When was the last time you updated your portfolio? Even if you already have a job or you have started applying to multiple places, updating your portfolio should not only be for the job you want, it's a place for you to code freely and improve yourself.”
Practice on that portfolio to show what you're capable of doing and test yourself, it is the perfect place to think outside the box to show your creative side so that you can standout from the average applicant.
Create Relevant Content
You can also adapt parts of that portfolio to specific jobs that you will apply to, while you want to show all the things you're capable of doing, some companies will want to see how you can make that specific place better, so practice with creating sections that can easily shine to the type of work place that you see yourself working at.
Ask for feedback
“Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.”
However don't be afraid to ask for a 'roast' of your portfolio, feedback should be encouraged, just be sure to try and find the right people for it, we don't want someone to put you down we are looking for constructive criticism so that you can improve and have your portfolio be a true showcase of skills whilst keeping up with the demanded relevant job requirements.
